PART A

I.- Each Hebrew word, appears in a block written in Hebrew, English tansliteration, and then translated into English.

II.- At the beginning of each prayer, on the right side of the page, there will be an arrow pointed in the direction you should read Hebrew words.

III.- English and transliterated words are read left to right, but you should read the prayer right to left.

IV.- Rules and notes are given to you gradually. If you have a question or something is unclear to you, check the notes you have already been given. If you cannot find the answer to your question, it probably will be covered in the notes to come.

V.- In the course material you will find two summary charts. One chart has all of the Hebrew letters and vowels. The other is a condensed version of all the rules and notes you will need to know. However, only use them after you have completed Part A.

VI.- We used the translated meaning shown in the Hebrew/English translation written in the: "Central Conference of American Rabbis" (Reform) prayer book, and in the "Rabbinical assembly" (Conservative) prayer book.
